In the New Republic.  As I understand it, get rid of income tax (or most of it) and stop transfers of Federal money from rich blue states (eg NY) to poor red states (eg Mississippi).  I think the writer, Kevin Baker, has point about the new transfer of money from blue to red.  Mr. Baker fantasizes that with the extra money will enable building high speed railroads, generous healthcare, fully funded Social Security, etc.  I think not.  Covering all the unfunded blue state public union pension liabilities will consume all the alleged free money and more.
